Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Phyllis P. Johnson was nurtured in the teachings of Christ from an early age. She was baptized at Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Brooklyn NY under the late Rev. Lowe, where she faithfully served in the Usher’s Ministry. She later became a dedicated member of New Beginnings Tabernacle Church of Deliverance under Apostle Earline Diane Jones-Clark.

Overseer Johnson holds an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies from Dominion Theological Seminary, is a Board Certified Christian Counselor, a Certified Grief Counselor through the National Association of Christian Counselors, and holds a Chaplaincy Certification from the New York State Task Force Chaplaincy Program.

In 2019, after prayer and discernment, she answered God’s call to ministerial leadership. In March 2020, she founded Noon Day Bread of Life Assembly Inc., later becoming its Senior Pastor after being licensed and ordained as an Elder. She currently serves as a fellowship member of The Interconnection Believers Worldwide Inc. under Bishop Dr. George Wesley Bratcher III. In April 2024, she was appointed State Overseer of New York. On August 3, 2025, under divine leading, she launched Theophany Temple Inc.

A passionate leader, Overseer Johnson mentors ministers, participates in New York City’s Pastor’s Huddle, and serves her community through YIFA Academy (Young Individuals Fostering Awareness Inc.), a diverse youth outreach program. Her ministry is anchored in Deuteronomy 31:8 and her prayer for God’s people is reflected in Colossians 1:9–12—that believers may walk worthy of the Lord, bear fruit, and grow in the knowledge of God.
